Guided Bird Walks
Guided Bird Walks offered from April 17-21 and 24-28
- 8:30 AM Boy Scout Woods Bird Sanctuary. Meet at entrance at Ryder Plaza.
- 12:30 PM Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary. Meet at vehicular barrier.
- 4:30 PM Smith Oaks Bird Sanctuary. Meet near restrooms.
April 26-27 at 8 PM: Join us for a special night migration bird walk at Smith Oaks!

Flock Talks at the Rookery

Land Sea and Sky Optics
The knowledgeable staff of Land Sea and Sky will once again provide High Island visitors the opportunity to try out several binoculars and scopes in the field. They will be set up in Smith Oaks by the pumphouse next to the McGovern Canopy Walkway entrance from 8:30 AM to 3 PM on April 12-15; April 19-21; and April 26-28. A portion of purchases will go toward supporting Houston Audubon programs.
Land Sea and Sky is also partnering with Houston Audubon on our free guided bird walks and free presentations at the Morse Field Station.
Saturday BBQ Lunches
St. Matthew's Methodist Church in High Island offers BBQ lunch for $15 every Saturday in April from 11 AM to 1 PM. The address is 1308 Weeks Avenue, High Island, 77623.
