Houston Audubon Recommended Nature Guides

  • Gary Clark started writing the Nature column for the Houston Chronicle in 1999. The column expanded to the San Antonio Express News in 2009. He's the award winning author of six books. Kathy Adams Clark has been a professional nature photographer since 1995. Her photos decorate Gary's columns and books. She teaches photography and leads photo tours.

  • Glenn Olsen served as Vice-President of Education for Houston Audubon and currently teaches birding classes for Houston Audubon. He leads birding and nature tours for groups and individuals.

  • David Bradford and Brandon Percival have been leading bird tours throughout the US for over 20 years and are now specializing in tours with only four or five clients, no more. This allows everyone a window seat and a quick exit out of the vehicle to get on the next bird.

  • Acclaimed wildlife photographer Greg Lavaty provides guiding services and photography instruction through his company, Texas Target Birds. He specializes in customized photography and birding trips as well as photographic instruction for photographers of all skill levels.

  • Darrell Vollert guides individuals and small groups on the Upper Texas Coast, SW Louisiana, Piney Woods of East Texas, Texas Hill Country, and the Central Brazos Valley. He also teaches classes on birding and bird banding and conducts bird surveys for landowners.
