Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary

  • HoursBusiness hours are 10 AM - 3 PM., Monday-Friday The sanctuary grounds are open daily 7 AM - 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 9 AM - 5 PM. Any group over 7 people (maximum 20) needs to request a self-guided tour by contacting Vicki Stittleburg vstittleburg@houstonaudubon.org or Amber Leung aleung@houstonaudubon.org

  • Parking is available at the Wilchester lot and at the sanctuary's east gate in the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church parking lot. See Google map on the Edith Moore visitor information page for the location.

  • FeeFree for visitors. Please note that this is a pet-free sanctuary. Permits required for portrait photography.

Boy Scout Woods Bird Sanctuary

  • FeeThe High Island sanctuaries are fee sites. A day pass costs $8, or for $30 a patch may be purchased which gives you an unlimited number of admissions to all High Island sanctuaries for one year.


Smith Oaks Bird Sanctuary

  • HoursThe Winnie Street entrance is open 365 days a year, dawn to dusk. TheĀ Old Mexico Road entranceĀ is open daily during spring migration and on weekends the rest of the year.
