Guided School Field Trips to High Island

High Island Guided School Field Trips

Kids on the canopy walkway

Bring your students to High Island this spring for a day of outdoor exploration to learn all about birds!

School groups with reservations receive a 1.5 hour guided tour led by Houston Audubon staff. Your group will start at the renowned Rookery at Smith Oaks Bird Sanctuary, where you’ll witness the wondrous sight and sounds of hundreds of nesting birds. We’ll then continue through the many habitats in the sanctuary, spotting and learning about birds along the way.

The trips are offered in April and the first two weeks in May. Supports Houston Independent School District’s 4th grade science standard 10a.
