Boy Scout Woods Photo Blind

About the Boy Scout Woods Photo Blind

Houston Audubon maintains a photo blind at Boy Scout Woods. Each of the 6 seats features a large rectangular opening that allows camera lens movement to make different shots possible. Please note that we do not allow visitors to set up their own blinds in our sanctuaries.

Spring Season: Reservations are required during spring migration: March 28 - May 4, 2025. This year reservations are made for individual seats. Houston Audubon members are given an opportunity to make their reservations before the general public.

Summer, Fall, and Winter Seasons: Use of the Boy Scouts Woods photo blind is free and no reservations are necessary.

New to the photo blind? Please note that there is usually more bird action at High Island in the afternoon. Find other tips in our Photoblind FAQ page.
