Damuth

Damuth Bird Sanctuary

A 617-acre sanctuary of mixed pine and hardwood bottomland habitat in Liberty County, this sanctuary was donated to Houston Audubon by businessman Malcolm Damuth in 1984 to be owned and managed as a wildlife sanctuary. The property lies in the eastern portion of the San Jacinto River Basin where it drains into Tarkington Bayou. 

The sanctuary is currently closed to the public.
