Habitat: Moist prairies and fields

Height: 1-2 ft.

Bloom Period: May - October

Description: Coreopsis may have a few blooms throughout the year, but the major bloom period is in May. The leaves are thin and segmented. Coreopsis is an annual and reseeds easily, particularly in moist areas and ditches.

Propagation Tips: Plants are available commercially. Allow plants to mature completely before collecting seed or mowing.

The Wildlife Connection: Nectar source for bees and butterflies. Many species of birds eat the seeds.
