Troglodytes aedon

Family: (Troglodytidae) Wrens

Preferred Habitat: Woodlands.

Seasonal Occurrence: Common November through March.

Notes: House Wrens can be found in winter on the Upper Texas Coast. They are shy but inquisitive birds and often escape notice. There have been very few reports of House Wrens in the Houston Bird Survey. Look for House Wrens in wooded backyards, woodlands, and brush piles. House Wrens are paler than Winter Wrens with longer tails. They have plain faces with faint eye rings.
