Built Different:
The Form and Function of Bird Anatomy
December 10, 2025 | starts at 7 PM
Free Members-only Zoom Webinar
While many probably learned or have heard that “birds are dinosaurs,” few may have stopped to consider what that really means. Though warm-blooded like us mammals, the mechanics of birds is much different from other groups of organisms. From their bones, the way they breathe, and the modes in which they perceive the world. These differences help to explain how they’ve managed to diversify and flourish from the ashes of the Cretaceous and become one of the most speciose organisms on Earth.
Understanding the quirks of bird anatomy is also a powerful tool in learning and understanding how and where to find them throughout the year both in our region and wherever your birding may take you.
