About Exploration Green
Formerly a golf course, Exploration Green is now the home of more than 1,000 native species of plants and wildlife, over 40 acres of wetlands, and five stormwater management lakes in the heart of Clear Lake. Birds of all types can be found here, including Limpkins, Purple Gallinules, and Scissor-tailed Kites. Each lake is surrounded by a comfortable, ADA-compliant, paved walking trail of approximately 1 – 1 ½ miles. We start and complete Phase 1 of the park, and often include other phases, depending on the weather and eBird date. Participants are free to leave whenever they'd like.
