Bolivar Flats Beach Cleanup
Please help us clean up the shoreline at Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary during Bird Week! Your efforts will help prepare the sanctuary for the thousands of migrants coming through during fall migration and help provide clean habitat for our beach-nesting birds! Houston Audubon will provide gloves, grabbers, trash bags, and water to refill your reusable containers. Please dress accordingly for the weather and sun protection.
Meet at the vehicular barrier located on the beach ~3/4 mile west of Rettilon Rd in Port Bolivar. From the ferry landing, take Highway 87, 3 miles, turn Right on Rettilon Rd, turn right at the beach and drive 3/4 mile to the barrier.

Houston Bird Week Bird Beer Debut
This event starts at 2 PM.
Come be one of the first to try the Ruby-Throated HummingBeer, a special collaboration between Houston Audubon and Frost Town Brewing, one of Houston's newest independent craft breweries. Cool off in the air-conditioned taproom with Houston Audubon and fellow bird lovers, or compete in the cornhole tournament out in the beer garden. Take a tour of the brewery and enjoy food from a local food truck on site. Frost Town has plenty of non-beer options and prides itself on being family and pet friendly.
