Are you interested in volunteering with Houston Audubon while you spend time in Edith L. Moore? Would you like to volunteer on your own schedule, with a flexible time commitment on afternoons, evenings, and weekends?

Join the crew of Sanctuary Stewards, by attending our open training session!

A brief orientation will be held in the morning starting at 8:30 AM, to include a tour of our trails and facilities, a run-down of the rules and responsibilities of Sanctuary Stewards, and answer any questions that may arise.

If you have previously volunteered as a Sanctuary Steward, you are not required to attend, but are of course welcome.

For the Birds

Step into the world of native plants and avian habitats with our upcoming class in partnership with the Houston Audubon Society! Discover the beauty and benefits of native plants with an engaging presentation led by experts. Then, embark on a guided native plant identification walk through our gardens, where you'll learn to recognize species that support local bird populations. Finally, get your hands dirty and make seed balls to take home, contributing to the conservation of our feathered friends' natural habitats. Join us for a day of learning, exploration, and ecological stewardship!​

Be sure to bring your own binoculars and cameras if you have them. We have very limited amount to share.​

There is a $15 fee for this event. Tickets may be purchased in advance on the Houston Botanic Garden website. See link below.
