Raptor Center Work Party - canceled
Join us at the Raptor and Education Center at Sims Bayou for a morning of gardening and sanctuary maintenance. We work 9 AM – 12 PM, once a month on the 3rd Saturday, September through May. Activities include trail maintenance, filling bird feeders and baths, litter pick-up, native gardening, and invasive species removal. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and meet like-minded friends! Bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent & gloves/clippers if you have them. Wear closed-toe shoes & long pants. Bring sack lunch if desired. Children of any age are welcome with their parent/chaperone. (Minimum age without a parent/chaperone is 14 years.) There is a maximum number of 15 participants at a workday.

Birdathon Awards Celebration - canceled
You've birded, you've fundraised, and now it's time for you to celebrate! Birdathon participants, family, friends, and donors are invited to the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary for our 2020 Birdathon Awards Celebration. This year, we have 7 prize categories that will be given and participants will be recognized for all the hard work they have displayed over the past couple of months.
Event parking is available at the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church that borders the Edith Moore Sanctuary. Please park on the west side of the lot along the fence, and you will see a direct entrance to the sanctuary (please do not walk along Memorial Drive). Once through the gate, you'll see a sign directing you to the cabin. It is a short 2-3 minute walk.
This workshop is free and open to the public. Please register using the button on the top right of this page.
Thank you to Fajita Pete's for sponsoring the food at the Birdathon Party!
