Member Field Trip to Keith Weiss Park

Thank you everyone for joining us on our February Member Field Trip on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Click here to see a photo gallery of the event.

Keith Weiss Park is beautiful!! Please add your photos to the album if you would like. The woods were certainly busy with titmice, cardinals, Pine Warblers, kinglets and more. The two detention ponds gave us great views of beaver activity, nutrias, an Osprey, egrets and cormorants and a beautiful Anhinga.

This park should be a destination for all birdwatchers in the Houston area. We only managed to cover 2  ½ of the many miles of trails available. Most of the trails were paved and it looks like there a plans to put in additional trails to the back detention pond.

We will certainly be back.
