Habitat: Wet ditches and fields

Height: 2-3 ft.

Bloom Period: April - August

Description: Perennial. Grass-like leaves. Very attractive sedge for wet areas. White-topped sedge used to be common on the peninsula. The masses of flower-like bracts sparkled in marshlands. White-topped Sedge was a victim of Hurricane Ike and has disappeared from the peninsula. We eagerly await its return! Please report any sightings to us.

Propagation Tips: Plants spread to form colonies. May be transplanted with care.
