
Birdathon is Houston Audubon’s community fundraiser where teams of all skill levels are encouraged to get out in nature and count birds while raising funds for Houston Audubon’s mission. This event puts the FUN in fundraising! Your support will help us protect birds through habitat restoration, surveying and monitoring, nature education, supporting bird-friendly communities, and advocacy efforts.
Important Dates
- Registration opens March 25.
- Fundraising can start as early as March 25.
- Birding Period: April 13 - May 13
- Donations must be submitted by midnight on May 14.

Whittington Award (Team with the most funds raised)
Shorebird Banding Experience on Bolivar Peninsula!:
Your whole team will join our coastal crew this June as they band shorebirds at our Bolivar Flats shorebird sanctuary. You will be up close with plovers, sandpipers, and much more. After a morning of banding, you’ll head over to the Morse Field Station for lunch. Exact date TBD.
