Entergy Coastal Natives Nursery

Entergy Coastal Natives Nursery

We're welcoming both new and returning volunteers to join us at Houston Audubon’s Entergy Coastal Natives Nursery in High Island! These monthly workdays are a great way to get your hands dirty and make a direct impact on coastal habitat restoration. Volunteers help with tasks like starting seeds, transplanting and potting young plants, organizing nursery space, weeding, and preparing mature plants for use at our four High Island sanctuaries.

This is a hands-on, educational opportunity accessible to most skill levels and physical abilities. You’ll learn about native plant propagation, coastal ecosystems, and how native species support birds and other wildlife. No experience is needed—we provide all tools, training, and guidance.

Workdays are held monthly on the second Friday, October-March, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Entergy Coastal Natives Nursery at the COOP (2081 Old Mexico Road, High Island, TX 77623).
