McFarlane Marsh, Champions, and Garwood Properties

McFarlane Marsh

Inaccessible to the public except by water, this 65.87-acre high-quality salt marsh on the north shore of West Galveston Bay was donated to Houston Audubon in 1993 and named after ornithologist Dr. Robert McFarlane, a former member of our Board of Directors and Board of Advisors. It is not open to the public.

Champions Property

This 13-acre tract of mixed pine and oak woods in the Champions area of northwest Houston was donated to Houston Audubon in 1995 as mitigation for a planned real estate development. It is not open to the public at present.

Garwood Property

A 2-acre tract adjacent to Lake Houston, this property was donated to Houston Audubon in 1991 without restrictions. It is not open to the public.
