ELMNS Natives Nursery

ELMNS Natives Nursery

If you're passionate about native plants, habitat restoration, and supporting local wildlife, volunteering at Houston Audubon's Native Plant Nursery is a great way to get involved!

Our nursery specializes in growing hyper-local native plants from heirloom seeds. These plants are used in home landscapes, parks, bayou corridors, and habitat restoration projects throughout the Greater Houston area. Current projects include partnerships with the Houston Parks Department, the City of Sugar Land, and Harris County Precinct 4.

Volunteer work Includes starting seeds, transplanting and potting young plants, preparing mature plants for customer pick-up, weeding, organizing the nursery space, and supporting general nursery operations.

This is a hands-on, educational opportunity that’s accessible to most skill levels and physical abilities. It’s also a great way to learn more about native plant care, propagation, and their vital role in our local ecosystem.

No prior experience is needed—just a love for plants and nature. We provide all necessary tools and training. Some volunteers join us weekly, but we’re grateful for all levels of participation.

Interested in trying it out? We’d love to have you! To get started, sign up for our distribution list and let us know you’d like to join the nursery crew.
