 r birders due to the diverse array of habitats including hundreds of acres
  of riparian forest\, open meadows\, a variety of small natural and man-ma
 de lakes along the Cypress Creek corridor\, and cultivated garden spaces.
 \n\nThis is a beginner-friendly and educational birding program. Birders c
 an expect to see year-round birds such as cardinals\, bluebirds\, pileated
  woodpeckers\, and chickadees\, as well as migratory hummingbirds\, warble
 rs\, kites\, and cuckoos. We even see an occasional bald eagle!\n\nBring y
 our own binoculars or borrow a pair of ours. Participation counts as Field
  Research volunteer hours for Texas Master Naturalists. Children under the
  age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please wear closed
 -toed shoes and be prepared to walk up to 2 miles on pavers and crushed as
 phalt trails as well as grass. Meet in front of the Mercer Visitor Center.
