Bird Friendly New Year's at Edith Moore

About 100 people attended the inaugural Bird Friendly New Year's social at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary on Saturday, January 4, 2020. The spring-like weather brought a lot of first-time visitors to the sanctuary.

Activities included making bird-friendly resolutions for New Year's, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and making owl masks crafts. Two members of the Young Professionals Advisory Council led nature walks. Stuart Nelson held Mindful Meandering, a peaceful and meditative way to experience the trails. Carl Nooteboom conducted a walk that pointed out the stops on the self-guided trail tour.

A big hit for young and older was getting up close with Percy, the Screech Owl. Jeanette Lambert of the Education Team was there to answer any questions.
