Audubon Docent Guild
Birthday Parties
- Run by two experienced volunteer docents.
- Children make a nature craft (take-home party favor).
- Two hours long; weekdays and weekends, depending on cabin and docent availability.
- Offered late August through May.
- $125 fee for Monday - Friday parties; $150 fee for Saturday and Sunday parties.
- Features walk in the woods, pond dipping, nature games and craft
- 16-child maximum (including birthday child).
- Parents furnish all food, paper goods, utensils.
- Suitable for children 4 - 10 years old.

Currently available birthday party crafts:
- Wildlife : Making-Tracks - Plaster-of-Paris wall hanging or necklace with native animal track castings: raccoons, armadillos, possums, owls, woodpeckers, etc. (Ages 7-10 only.)
- Wildlife : Wildlife Valentines - Bread covered in peanut butter and bird seed, cut into heart shape, as a gift for the animals.
- Bird: Bird's Nest - Crushed paper bag with pompon bird and clay eggs in moss.
- Reptile/Amphibian: Snake - Flat wooden ice cream spoons, bradded together and decorated, complete with forked tongue.
- Reptile/Amphibian: Frog - Cork with googly eyes and pipe cleaner legs - to float in the pond.
- Insect: Caterpillar - Multi-colored beads, threaded on pipe cleaner, with feelers.
- Insect: Dragonfly - Clothespin base with iridescent wings and pipe cleaner legs.
- Insect: Butterfly - Clothespin base with foam wings and pipe cleaner legs.
- American Indian: Possession Stick - Small tree branch, decorated with an American Indian child's prized possessions - beads, feathers, corn husks, yarn. (Ages 7-10 only.)
- American Indian: Indian Headband - Decorated cloth strip with fastener and feathers.
- Metamorphosis: Metamorphosis Stick - Eggs, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly - recreated on a tree branch. (Ages 7-10 only.)
- Bat: Bat Mask - Detailed bat masks to color, cut out and wear.
