Family Nature Explore Club

Each month your family can join us at Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center for a Saturday filled with learning and fun. We will discover native Texas wildlife, organic gardening, hike and bird watch, learn about trees and native plants, make wonderful crafts and artwork, and learn about ways to help the planet with biodegradable products and recycling, and much, much more!!!!

Please plan on bringing a picnic lunch and wear clothes that are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor activities. The club will meet in the Bayou Barn at 11 AM. We will spend 45 minutes together learning about the theme for the day. After everyone enjoys their lunch we will have fun, interactive and educational activities for the kids. Parents will have the option of joining their kids or participating in adult workshops on a variety of topics. Topics may include landscaping with native plants, making your own household cleaners, healthy recipes and eating from the garden, and more!

  • Sims Bayou Family Nature Explore Club meets the second Saturday of each month from 11 AM - 2:30 PM (September - May)
  • $3.00 per person
  • PLEASE RSVP to Vicki Vroble, telephone 713-640-2407.
