Bolivar Beach Clean-Up: September 27

Join us for this fall's official clean-up. We will meet at the vehicular barrier in the sanctuary at 9 AM and work until noon. Houston Audubon will supply gloves, water and trash bags. High Island Work Days: October 11, November 15, December 13

Please note that the November work day is on the 3rd Saturday. In October and November we will be continuing our understory diversification/privet eradication project and be working to once again take back sanctuary trails. We work from 8 AM to 2 PM, but volunteers are welcome whenever they show up. HAS supplies lunch, water and some tools. If you have favorite tools bring them along. Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center Gardens

Our volunteers gather the first weekend of the month for a work day – mainly weeding, pruning, mulching, and planting. If you are patient and enjoy children, you are welcome to help us on Fridays (12:30 – 3:00 PM) when our Junior Master Gardener club meets. If you prefer to work solo as you enjoy the birds chirping in the nearby trees, you are welcome to call us any time, and we’ll probably find something for you to do in the gardens/playground. Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary - Tuesday Trail Crew

The Tuesday trail crew at Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary meets from 9 AM until noon every Tuesday year-round. Trail crew projects include everything under the sun, including boardwalk construction and maintenance, trail trimming and privet/ligustrum removal.
