After a 600-mile journey across the Gulf of Mexico, hundreds of thousands of migrating birds find refuge at the Houston Audubon coastal sanctuaries along the Upper Texas Coast. The combination of beach front, salt marsh, mud flats, and wooded uplands provides resting, feeding, and breeding sites for millions of birds annually. To emphasize this area's importance to migrating birds and to gain support
for the restoration of critical habitat recently battered by Hurricane Ike, we are hosting a Birds & Beaches Benefit.
We invite you to join us in our celebration by contributing an item to our silent or live auction. As an auction donor your name will appear in our invitation distributed to over 3,000 community leaders. It will be displayed in the Birds & Beaches Benefit Program, in our bi-monthly newsletter with a
circulation of over 1,900 and on our website.
