October 12 update: Thanks to all the hard work of volunteers and staff, Edith Moore Sanctuary is once again open to the public. Fall migrants that have been seen in October include Swainson's Thrush, Gray Catbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Nashville Warbler, and American Redstart. Some winter birds have returned: Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Phoebe, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. There was one report of a Brown Pelican on Oct. 11. A refugee from the coast?? Birders are encouraged to post their sightings on eBird. Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary is an eBird hotspot.
