Come and celebrate International Migratory Bird Day 2008 at the Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center. Activities for all ages, live animals, special guests, food, and fun! Features include Mr Clint "the snake man", live owls, Prairie Chat in our pocket prairie, garden and trail tours, migratory bird games, and more! April 26 is John James Audubon's birthday. Spring Bird Walks
Coastal Walks continue through May 5. Early May often has some of the best birding of the season. Don't miss out!
High Island & Bolivar Flats: Daily bird walks. Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary: Weekly on Wednesday mornings. Rookery at Smith Oaks: Every evening a volunteer with scope will be present on the large observation platform.

Galveston Co. Spring Count:

This count is our contribution to International Migratory
Bird Day. Choose to participate with one of 10 groups to help us survey the entire Galveston County. Galveston County includes some great birding: High Island, the Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston Island, Texas City, and the mainland area to Clear Creek including part of Friendswood.
