At Houston Audubon's Volunteer Appreciation Picnic, held on February 6, 2010, President-Elect Mary Carter announced the recipients of the Laura Singleton Exceptional Volunteer Award.

| CEC Honors Flo Hannah and Jaime Gonzalez
On Tuesday, November 3, the Citizens' Environmental Coalition honored Houston Audubon Senior Sanctuary Steward Flo Hannah along with Jaime Gonzalez of the Katy Prairie Conservancy for their leadership in native plant rescue events held at Saums Road Prairie during the summer of 2008. Flo and Jaime were the 2009 Army & Sarah Emmott Conservation Award Winners. This award recognizes local individuals and organizations for their notable environmental projects and achievements.[More]

| Southwest Regional Director Selection Process for National Audubon
December 3 Update: Joy Hester, Past President of Houston Audubon was selected at the recent Board of Director's meeting to be the chapter's nominee for Southwest Region Director of the National Audubon Society.
