Audubon Docent Guild: formally established

Education Birds: HAS starts offering outreach programs with live birds
2002 Urban Conservation Treaty for Migratory Birds: HAS becomes a partner.

Mary Anne Weber, HAS Education Director, receives the Environmental Education Award by the Citizens' Environmental Coalition
2005 Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center: HAS receives donation of center

HAS publishes Citizen's Guide to Migration and the Migratory Birds of the Bayou City
2006 Mary Anne Weber, HAS Education Director, receives the Environmental Professional of the Year (Institutional) Award from the City of Houston
